Care for your new fireplace

How do I clean the glass on a gas hearth?
Consult your owner's manual on how the glass removes from your particular model. Simple household glass cleaners that do NOT contain ammonia will work in most cases. (Ammonia based cleaners can cause a milky white haze to be baked on to the glass). If you have more difficult discoloration of the glass, we offer cleaning products designed especially for this purpose.

Can I paint my fireplace or stove to change the color or touch it up?
There are a few special paints made specifically for this purpose and we carry paints in our in-house parts department.

How often should I have my gas fireplace serviced?
Like most gas-fired appliances, a gas fireplace requires regular maintenance to ensure its safety and efficiency. Routine maintenance helps maintain low energy costs and ensures that your fireplace will continue to be operational. Email to request service from our Countryside Service department or call 763-479-1600.

How often should I have my wood burning chimney cleaned?
Depends on the usage and type of wood. As a rule, every woodburning system should be inspected by a professional at the beginning of each burn season.
